Everyone Needs Some Good News & Positive Messages

Sent on behalf of Terri Kohl, President of The Blue Ribbon

The California sunshine is out in full force today so it’s a good day to share some sunny links to review and some positive thoughts we have received from members.

Actor John Krasinski has created a YouTube channel called Some Good News to highlight good news from around the world. He even created a virtual prom last week for students who were missing out on that special high school memory. (Click on the title to watch all 4 episodes.)

As you know, the LA Master Chorale was honoring the Blue Ribbon at their GALA 2020. Although we were unable to gather in person, they created a Virtual Program. You can watch the lovely tribute speech by Blue Ribbon member and Gala Chair, Annette Ermshar here: https://vimeo.com/408465271

Comments from some Blue Ribbon Members:

Eva Stern: I still know how to cook and enjoy it. My freezer is full of homemade dishes and I have perfected old school popcorn for movie night, which is almost every evening. I have lots of FaceTime and Zoom visits with friends and family near and far.

Sonia Randazzo: I’m staying with my daughter and her family. We play games, watch movies, cook and take long walks. Under ordinary circumstances, we would have been far too busy to gain these precious moments that will be long remembered.

Tricia Grey: Our daily walks have brought out our wonderful neighbors, many of whom we’re meeting for the first time. This has truly highlighted our collective humanity and the spirit of community for which we are grateful. There is so much light through this unsettling time.

Sheila Weisman: I hope everyone is doing well and that we will see one another soon!

Diane Morton: I must share about my Blue Ribbon friend and neighbor, Miren, who has been shopping for me and others and taking me to the doctor when necessary. We walk in the neighborhood almost every day. She is my guardian angel.

Linda Bowling: We wake up every day and have to think – what day is this?!

Rosa Sinnott: I love Blue Ribbon! Let me know if there are gals that we need to reach out to. Mother Nature has been working overtime in my yard!

In addition to all the dance, music, interviews and podcasts available from The Music Center and its resident companies, you can also take virtual tours of museums, art galleries and national parks. Check out Google Arts & Culture.
