Encino Oak Tree
This one-of-a-kind Encino landmark is what remains of what was considered the oldest known tree in Los Angeles. Designated a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument in 1963, the tree was felled by an El Nino storm in 1998, but the stump remains on its original location along Louise Avenue. The tree is believed to be more than 1,000 years old and has a diameter of 8 feet.
