Unexpected Ways to Prevent Heart Disease!
Clocking long hours at work may be a badge of honor. But a 2015 study in the Lancet found that people who work more than 55 hours a week have a 33 percent higher risk of stroke and a 13 percent greater risk of heart disease than those who work 35 to 40 hours. People with long workdays are often stressed and have less time to eat healthy, relax, and exercise, which can cause heart problems, says Martha Gulati, MD, division chief of cardiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
