New York City has a new record for the most expensive home sale ever: the duplex penthouse on the 89th and 90th floor of the One57 tower has closed for $100,471,452.77.

New York City property records show the sale closed on December 23 and that the buyer is P89-90, LLC-otherwise the buyer’s name remains a mystery. The sale hit property records late Friday and was first reported by the New York Post.

Prior to this sale, the record for the most expensive home sold in New York City was the $88 million that Ekaterina Rybolovleva, daughter of Russian fertilizer tycoon Dimitry Rybolovlev, paid for the 15 Central Park West penthouse that belonged to former Citigroup chairman Sanford Weill.

The new, record-setting penthouse at One57 encompasses 10,923 square feet spread over the 1,004-foot-tall tower’s top two floors, offering breathtaking views of Central Park. The sale rings in at nearly twice the price recorded for the next most-expensive condo in the building, a $56.1 million 82nd floor unit that billionaire and former Michael Kors Corp. chair Silas Chou purchased last year. Activist investor Bill Ackman led a group that reportedly paid at least $90 million for another duplex on the 75th and 76th floors of the building, but that sale has not yet hit public records.

One57 was the first of the towers to break ground on “Billionaires Row,” where developers are erecting some half-dozen tall, slender towers that have been criticized for casting shadows over Central Park. One57 was briefly the tallest of the bunch, before its neighbor to the west, 432 Park Avenue, which bills itself as the tallest residence in the Western Hemisphere, sprouted to 1,396 feet in height. The penthouse at the top of that tower is reportedly in contract for $95 million.
