The 30 Best Ski-In And Ski-Out Resorts In The World For 2022, According To Travel Experts
With the weather starting its slow shift into winter, many people are planning their New Year escapes to the mountains and the best way to avoid the crowds is to stay at a ski-in/ski-out resort. With more time on the slopes and less time in crowded transportation, and long lines, this is the ideal way to spend your vacation.
Ski-in/ski-out resorts are usually located adjacent to ski lifts or sometimes directly on the slopes. These properties enable you to access skiing from your hotel and include locations within a short walk or a gondola ride with your skis.
In searching for the best resorts worldwide, I spoke with John McMahon, owner of the luxury travel advisor site Five Star Alliance who explains their selection process for this years Best Resorts list. “Our resorts are only the best in market resorts,” he said. “We personally inspect each hotel, and our longevity and reputation have been tested for 18 years. We also listen to our customers, and if we receive consistent poor reviews, we drop the resort. Service is a big factor as well and can change quickly. Since Covid, this has been a challenge for resorts to bring back staff and keep the service levels high.”
Here are the ski-in/ski-out resorts that Five Star Alliance considers the Best Of the Best for 2022.
