The New Address of Luxury Hospitality

It has been 124 years since the Astoria Hotel opened its doors on New York’s Fifth Avenue, and 86 years since the Waldorf Astoria opened at its current location on Park Avenue. All those years of history and accumulated knowledge of luxury hospitality have now converged in Beverly Hills with the opening of The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills at the iconic intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards.

And what an incredible addition it is! Of course, Southern California’s most affluent visitors will enjoy residing in the lap of luxury. But the new hotel is also a boon for the “locals” with meeting spaces and ballrooms perfect for lavish weddings, and three delectable dining venues created by French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten: the signature Jean-Georges Beverly Hills, the Jean-Georges Beverly Hills Bar, and The Rooftop by JG. (I LOVE the black truffle pizza!) It is one of the most elegant dining areas in the city with over 20 ft. ceilings. I love the entire interior design of the hotel. Kudos to designer Pierre-Yves Rochon.

On June 1, opening day, the Joyce Rey team took a short field trip to savor the view from the hotel’s rooftop. What a view! From Downtown across Beverly Hills and sweeping west to the gorgeous sunsets. Visit the Waldorf soon – it’s the latest and loveliest landmark in a region that loves its landmarks!
